Candle Gazing Meditation or Trataka
Candle gazing meditation is a simple meditation technique in which you focus your sight and your attention on the flame of a candle for a certain length of time. For beginners 3 to 5 minutes is a good starting point.

Preparation and how to do candle gazing meditation
- Make sure you won’t be disturbed.
- Find a comfortable place to sit, so you can sit straight, with the candle preferably at eye-level.
- To do it without this guided video, you can set a timer. (3 -5 minutes to begin with)
- Take a few deep breaths and settle in to your intention. For example: “To improve my focus and concentration.”
- Make an effort to blink as little as possible, blink when you need to.
- Finish with gratitude.
