How often do you find yourself getting caught up in thoughts of overwhelm or dissatisfaction as you realize how much you have to get done, whether it's house work or errands you need to run? The 'ordinary' things involved in daily life! It's all too easy to get bogged down by the perceived mundane moments. To counteract this, we can choose to make normal everyday moments something special by adding a sprinkle of play and magic to them. When I catch myself complaining (usually just to myself), or generally just feeling overwhelmed by the volume of what I have to do. It's in those moments that I choose to turn it in to play instead. (believe me, it hasn't always been that way, but very grateful it is now!) Sometimes I put music on and dance my way to getting things done, or I may play with the cat for a while (if she's up for it) to get myself laughing and into my heart. Playing with her always makes me more joyful, it brings me back to myself in the here and now and everything just feels a bit easier. You can choose to make anything a bit more fun and magical, get creative and question: what is fun for you? Maybe the idea of cleaning as if your favourite actor/singer/spiritual leader is coming to dinner, clean the house with joy and excitement. How does it make you view your space? Do you clean deeper without thoughts of effort because you're excited? It's interesting to see what comes up for you. Hang your washing as if you're Snow White, sing to the birds, and listen to them sing back, delight and give thanks to the sun that will dry your laundry as it shines its constant light. Or be like the seven dwarves and whistle while you work. This can be applied to all housework. When you go in to town to do errands, pretend you're on a secret mission. Choose to walk a different way, going down a different road or going the long way round. Plan a picnic in the park on your way. Choose to treat yourself to a coffee in the cafe. Adding changes to shake it up. You could make it a walk of intention. You can add sprinkles of magic, by lighting a candle while you clean a room, or prepare the dinner. Add your favourite essential oil to the burner, create an atmosphere of peace, calm, or something more energising, depending on what you need. Play music, dress up, wear a crown, make it an extraordinary experience, different than your 'normal' and more playful. You'll only know if you try it...
Some fun thoughts to get your creative, playful, magical juices flowing: ✨️ Dress up and pretend to be someone else, try out different characters. Be confident you. Be a powerful queen or king. Be a fairy tale character. Be you if you had 5 million in bank. Be an animal. ✨️ Ask your inner child what they want to do. Do the things that gave you great joy as a child. Blow bubbles, skip wherever you go, make magic potions.... ✨️ Choose to do something else instead of scrolling social media, or being bored. Paint a stone. Draw something. Try some form of crafting you've always wanted to try, but never make time for. Make a list of small things you can do in those moments. ✨️ Do a dance performance for your cat, dog, toddler, or imaginary audience. Feel the adoration and applause from the crowd. Take that into the rest of your day. ✨️ Put intention into everything you do. Be a powerful creator (that you already are!). Step out with confidence and playfulness as you embody your most magical self.... May you be awed by beauty...always. With love and blessings,

Walking in nature is a sacred act. How simple! When we choose to do anything with intention and awareness it becomes sacred. We become connected, open and receptive. Walking is an activity of self care, a way to attune to the rhythms of the seasons, a way of getting up close and personal with the elements, whilst also giving our sacred physical vessel a stretch and a move. It's also a great way to change your mood if you're feeling stuck or angry. I invite you to go for a walk in nature or through the town, but do it from a place of awareness, observing what is, without judging or making commentary about what you see. Just notice. Does it change the experience for you? How does it feel? Will you do it again in this way? Maybe you do this already, below are a few more suggestions. Some possible ideas for you to explore:
✨️ Engage in a walk of gratitude, be consciously grateful for everything you come across on your journey. Let it take you deep in to appreciation. ✨️ Set an intention if you have a question you'd like help with. Ask the question and intend to receive the answer as you walk. Then be open to the omens and messages of all that you encounter on your walk. ✨️ Dedicate your walk to a prayer request. ✨️ Choose to see everything as divine, including the people, remember that everyone is a soul having a human experience. ✨️ Smile at everyone that you cross paths with when it feels appropriate and see what happens. If you choose to go out walking with an intention, may it be deeply rewarding for you. May you be awed by beauty...always. With love and blessings, How do you feel about your home space? Coming home and leaving the world at the door is a special moment, at least it is for me. Stepping over the threshold, I'm stepping in to my sanctuary, my special place where I can unravel and feel safe. We drop all of our masks at the door and come home to ourselves. Are you able to feel relaxed, unwind and recharge? Not to be taken for granted, I am grateful everyday for my home and my safety. How do you feel about your home? Is it your sanctuary? Or do you mainly see the things that need repair or the walls that need a lick of paint, or is it the piles of clutter that seems to be growing all around the place? Do have a list of to do's that could do with having a few of the jobs checked off the list? Maybe you just haven't considered your home as a sacred sanctuary before? Perhaps you do see it this way, you just haven't named it. In the last few years, I've started to give more time to the beautifying of my space. Spending time cleaning is no longer a burdensome act that consumes my precious time, but rather a joy that is carried out with intention and love. As the love is sprinkled around, I feel grateful that I will continue to feel the benefits for weeks to come, layer upon layer added each time. Since first meeting the spirit of my home many years ago, I communicate with them regularly. I cherish the space we are co-creating with intention, checking in often to make sure all is well and in harmony, or if there are any requirements that need to be taken care of energetically. It has over time become an intuitive collaboration between us. I play music and dance with the space to add in more joy energy. I add my gratitude in to the walls and floors as I move around, by thanking the space and the furnishings for holding and supporting me every day. I love my home and everything I choose to bring in to it and furnish it with. These are just some of the ways I make it sacred for me, my safe haven, so that I can fully relax and feel held, ready to face the world again when it's time. Here are some practical ways you can bring some more of the sacred in to your daily living space:
➤ Open the windows and let in the fresh air, let the space breathe. ➤ Regularly smudge your space with intention and cleansing herbs, essential oils, or special room sprays like lavender water. Creating your own room spray with a specific intention, is a loving act for you and your home. I regularly use essential oils to set a mood in my space. ➤ Clear any clutter you may have lying around, clean out some drawers, get rid of what is outdated and holding a stagnant stuck energy. All this clearing makes space for clarity, for new and vibrant possibilities of what's next to enter in. ➤ A house clearing session is a special treat, to clear out energetically old and stagnant energies from the building and land itself. Click here for more details if you're curious to know more or if you feel called to deep clean the house energetically in this way. ➤ Play inspiring, uplifting or music with healing frequencies in your home, dance around the space, bringing in joy as you do so. ➤ Bring in some house plants to help clean and purify the air. These are just a few ideas to help you think of your own ways to bring more sacredness in to your personal sanctuary. Doing it with purpose and intention adds energy to it. May you be awed by beauty...always. With love and blessings, |
