How has your month been as we shift gears in the cycle of the seasons? The energies of Imbolc have certainly been moving through me as I feel the stirrings of new growth and activity within and all around me. I'm very much a feeling being, and sometimes it can be a challenge to put words on to the energies I feel. As nature is stirring and rising from the slumber of winter time, I feel it like a dance. I'm feeling pulled to dance more and shake off the remnants of my hibernation. An all time favourite active meditation of mine, is Osho's Kundalini Meditation. Traditionally done at sunset, with a feeling of let go, it has you shake and dance before the silence. I've often used it between times of transition as a helping aid. The following quote is powerful, because in my experience, it's so true. In our culture we've often become stuck and rigid in our thoughts, beliefs, perceptions and actions. As a remedy clients, in support of their healing, can often be prescribed things like authentic movement, dance and singing. Dance is a perfect antidote to help bring back flow and movement to ourselves. “In many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions: "When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of silence?” Gabrielle Roth Some possible suggestions to inspire you to flow with the momentum that's happening in nature:
○ Stand with knees slightly bent, close your eyes, then imagine yourself as nature stirring awake, slowly, how would you move? Allow yourself to stretch and unfurl. ○ Put on an upbeat song to get you moving and dance like nobody's watching! Move how your body wishes to move, and let go of the mind. Sing along! ○ Go out on a walk of intention to receive messages and insights from nature. (see post here, on what a walk of intention is) ○ Dance under the full moon in a couple of weeks and embrace your primal nature. ○ Shake with knees bent and relaxed, let the movement come up gently from the earth and move you. ○ Try the 'Osho Active Kundalini Meditation', it can be found on Youtube with instructions. With love and blessings,

As we move into a new calendar year many people start to reflect on what they wish to change and what they would like to start anew. However the energies are not conducive to mustering a whole regime of new resolutions. We are gently stirring from the longest night (in the north), and it takes time to stretch and unfurl. Spring energies will soon enough be pulling on us to start new ventures.
So my suggestion for now is to meditate and vision the new growth you wish to create. Continue to nurture the seeds that have been planted in your inner garden. Commit to getting to know yourself better and spend time considering who you wish to become. One of the best ways to get to know yourself better is through journaling, a practice I have used on and off for many years. It can sometimes be given as a prescription for clients during a healing session, to journal on a particular issue. I'm often asked how to use it for transformation. So, I decided to create a mini course that takes you through the process in a quick, easy and accessible way. The purpose of this particular course is designed to help you create more self awareness, finding the limiting beliefs that are running in the background that are creating your unwanted experience, and how to transform them. With suggestions for how to focus on what you actually want more of. It's a starting place for you if you feel that journaling could be a tool to benefit you on your path to get to know yourself more intimately. Take a look here. As a bonus, there is also a meditation to support your evolution as you continue to deepen your practice. Nature is already showing hints of Spring, my primroses in the garden are already in bloom, it feels too soon! It also feels like a promise. With love and blessings, As the year slowly comes to an end and the days are getting shorter (in the North), many are busy with festive plans while others are becoming increasingly stressed. How do you flow at this time of year? For me, this time of year has always been challenging, UNLESS I SLOW DOWN. My whole being naturally wants to close the doors and hibernate. Bear is one of my Spirit Helpers and over the years she has graced me with the wisdom of going inward. Encouraging me to follow my natural rhythm, my need to slow down and take more time to reflect and be simple. I definitely sleep more during these longer nights. Tuesday is the new moon in Sagittarius, then Mercury goes retrograde the day after until the 1st of January. Mercury Retrograde is a good time to review, reflect, re-align, re-assess, re-balance and redirect if needed. And of course, communicate with care! So perfectly in alignment with the energies of the cycle! I invite you to see how you can slow down, self-care, nourish and connect more during this month. Especially when there are so many distractions trying to pull you out of alignment. Give yourself the gift of time.
Get outside when you can and be nourished by the winter season. Meditate more, journal and dream the world in to being. Allow space for your intuition to guide you and inspiration to find you. The shortest day will be 22nd December here in the North and I will create ceremony to celebrate the light returning as a new Sun cycle begins. May you be gifted with feeling gratitude, patience and compassion when needed over the coming month. With love and blessings, I've been reflecting on a few things this month: How I wish to live with more depth? What is my truth? And actually, how present am I in my own life? With so many distractions to knock us off course, I value having a regular practice of setting my intentions each month. It really does help to keep me on track. We have been living in a 24 hour, 7 days a week society for many years now. Our nervous systems are jangled and most people are living in a constant stress response of either fight, flight, freeze or fawn. It's time to slow down and be more present now (not tomorrow). It's time to use the tools and practices that work for you. I see memes and reels on social media nostalgic for childhood days of the eighties. Before the internet, the pace was slower, as kids we played out all day, my parents didn't seem to worry, but then they weren’t blasted by so much media driven fear. Life seemed easier, slower and more relaxed. In my home we wouldn't interrupt our sit down evening meal at the table because the phone rang, it would be left, answered when it was convenient to us. Our family time was precious. We weren't on call or accessible 24 hours a day and you certainly wouldn’t call someone after 9pm. These days, for large parts of my day I choose to have my phone switched to silent, I decide when I check it. It’s one way I support myself to be more present. When I’m in company that is constantly distracted by their phone pinging non-stop, it feels very frustrating, especially when I’m mid-sentence and their attention trails off....maybe I'm just not as interesting!?! :) We also jump on our phones to look something up during a conversation, no longer using our memory function, then get lost in all the notifications. When did this become ‘normal’? How present are we in our own lives? Our time is one of the greatest gifts we have to offer, along with our presence.
I invite you to reflect on consciously creating space, slowing down and ways to become less distracted (only if this is an issue for you of course). Give yourself some juice and top up your reserves. Here are some ideas to inspire you: ◉Get out in nature, whatever the weather, be with the elements! ◉Choose not to engage so much with social media. If you're finding it a drain on your time, limit yourself. Reels are teaching us to have shorter attention spans. ◉Unsubscribe from emails that don't hold energy for you anymore. Clear the clutter and noise. ◉Spend time with people who make you feel uplifted, seen and give you their presence. Give yours in return. ◉Create a (realistic) daily to do list that helps you to focus and generates a sense of achievement as you tick things off. ◉Plan in some S-P-A-C-E on your calendar. ◉Journal/reflect on ways you can be more present in your life. What can you do to feel nurtured and recharged? May you have a beautiful month. With love and blessings, "Be the change you wish to see in the world", a quote by Mahatma Ghandi, has always been one of my favourites ever since I was a teenager. That simple yet profound principle has guided me always, and I come back to it again and again. It's not so easy to embody! If I wish to see peace in the world, it is for me to become peaceful within myself. What does that really mean? You are ultimately the only thing you can change. For me, it means we need to stop berating ourselves. We need to stop making ourselves and others wrong, bad, not enough. We need to stop blaming, shaming, judging, making ourselves better than, or lesser than. We need to stop holding on to past resentments and find a way to forgive and transform. We need to stop being at war within our own minds. The list could go on.... "How do I begin to get my heart and head around what I see happening in the world?" I have people ask me. From an expanded view, we are all multi-dimensional souls having a human experience. We've had different life experiences, we were born in to different families, cultures and to various geographical points. We have come here as a soul to learn, grow and experience. Everyone is doing the best they can with the knowledge and level of consciousness that they possess. This is a challenging concept when dealing with harsh and violent situations. I can only come back to myself, I am the only thing I can change, in the way I perceive, the thoughts and words I choose, how I act towards my family, friends, neighbours and to strangers. Love is what heals. This helps me to make sense of this life, the absolute beauty and the utter devastation. Everyone is doing the best they can with the level of consciousness they possess. By coming back to myself, I am choosing to add a positive impact in the best way that I can. I choose to focus on unity and transforming what is still unhealed within me.
Last weekend I went to a storytelling event that told how the Goddess Kali came in to being. She is the Hindu Goddess of creation and destruction. It was a timely blessing to be reminded that we need to feel our anger, rage and sadness, to honour and feel everything that comes up, so we can release it and move through it, back in to a state of love and compassion. It's important that we don't suppress our feelings, but at the same time, to not send them out in to the world. Express but don't send. Release and let go. If we hold on, we push it down and end up resenting and blaming, which only then serves to be poison that starts to contaminate our own body and being. If we don't face and transform ourselves, we are adding that unhealed trauma to the collective conscious, which perpetuates separation, differences and hate. What we focus on we add energy to. This week, I have been reflecting on peace, and how I can love myself more. Where I still need to release trauma from my system. Going deep in to gratitude for everything in my life. I have taken part in several large group meditations focusing on peace. Reflecting on my time living in Israel in my 20's, tuning in to the land that I feel deep in my soul. Remembering the beautiful people, both Israeli and Palestinian, that I met. I've been dreaming a world of peace, a golden age of unity and harmony. The new moon is in Libra is tomorrow and we have a solar eclipse, my intentions are to be more conscious of any thoughts that serve to separate me and create division, to bring more balance in to my life. I intend to reflect more on being the change I wish to see in our precious world. What will you be intending? May you have a peace filled month. With love and blessings, As we head in to Autumn, it's a good time to reflect on letting go... Letting go of summer is always a challenge for me, so I'm very much enjoying the late summer sun we've been blessed with here in the south of England. However, letting go of everything that isn’t serving is the goal. It's also a time of enjoying the bountiful harvest. Whilst on a recent pilgrimage to the North of Scotland, I witnessed countless fields being harvested and many full of golden bales in the gorgeous late summer sunshine. It was a definite reminder to be grateful for all that has been accomplished so far this year. As the days gradually shorten, a time of release, rest, recharge, reflection and renewal beckons us to slow down. With the New Moon in Virgo on the 15th (tomorrow in the early hours), I intend to use the energy to get me started on clearing the clutter to get ready for the coming months. Moving forward with a clear mind while creating fresh space to be in retreat mode over the winter. As within, so without. I have an image in my mind, as I write, of gardeners harvesting the fruits of the summer growth and clearing the old growth that has gone over. Creating bonfires and filling compost heaps to create new rich soil. Releasing the old and preparing for the new growth that will come. Do you have clutter?
Clutter can be in various guises. That drawer of who knows what, the bulging wardrobes, the small piles that gather and grow over time dotted all around the house. I realise, although my house is fairly tidy, I have pockets of clutter. My office is like a whirlwind passed through (it's on my list)….and computer clutter! Masses of writings and files to be sorted through, various photo albums waiting to be organised, going nowhere but getting bigger all the time. I’ve always felt clutter, it makes me feel unsettled, scattered, lacking in clarity and overwhelmed. This is why I tend to keep my space clear. My astrological rising sign is Virgo, and I love that, it helps to keep my Piscean-self grounded! I’ve often joked, if I wasn’t a healer, I’d have a job helping people clear their spaces of clutter. When I do make the time to clear the clutter, I feel the impact, it feels lighter. I feel the spaciousness that's created. On so many levels it feels good. It’s the same when I clear some drawers, sort through my wardrobe or tidy the linen closet. Even clearing one small space makes a big difference to my peace. Tonight I will have a fire ceremony, releasing some outdated ideas and beliefs along with some old paperwork and journals, whilst honouring the New Moon and intending more spaciousness and clarity of mind. May you be awed by beauty...always. With love and blessings, How often do you find yourself getting caught up in thoughts of overwhelm or dissatisfaction as you realize how much you have to get done, whether it's house work or errands you need to run? The 'ordinary' things involved in daily life! It's all too easy to get bogged down by the perceived mundane moments. To counteract this, we can choose to make normal everyday moments something special by adding a sprinkle of play and magic to them. When I catch myself complaining (usually just to myself), or generally just feeling overwhelmed by the volume of what I have to do. It's in those moments that I choose to turn it in to play instead. (believe me, it hasn't always been that way, but very grateful it is now!) Sometimes I put music on and dance my way to getting things done, or I may play with the cat for a while (if she's up for it) to get myself laughing and into my heart. Playing with her always makes me more joyful, it brings me back to myself in the here and now and everything just feels a bit easier. You can choose to make anything a bit more fun and magical, get creative and question: what is fun for you? Maybe the idea of cleaning as if your favourite actor/singer/spiritual leader is coming to dinner, clean the house with joy and excitement. How does it make you view your space? Do you clean deeper without thoughts of effort because you're excited? It's interesting to see what comes up for you. Hang your washing as if you're Snow White, sing to the birds, and listen to them sing back, delight and give thanks to the sun that will dry your laundry as it shines its constant light. Or be like the seven dwarves and whistle while you work. This can be applied to all housework. When you go in to town to do errands, pretend you're on a secret mission. Choose to walk a different way, going down a different road or going the long way round. Plan a picnic in the park on your way. Choose to treat yourself to a coffee in the cafe. Adding changes to shake it up. You could make it a walk of intention. You can add sprinkles of magic, by lighting a candle while you clean a room, or prepare the dinner. Add your favourite essential oil to the burner, create an atmosphere of peace, calm, or something more energising, depending on what you need. Play music, dress up, wear a crown, make it an extraordinary experience, different than your 'normal' and more playful. You'll only know if you try it...
Some fun thoughts to get your creative, playful, magical juices flowing: ✨️ Dress up and pretend to be someone else, try out different characters. Be confident you. Be a powerful queen or king. Be a fairy tale character. Be you if you had 5 million in bank. Be an animal. ✨️ Ask your inner child what they want to do. Do the things that gave you great joy as a child. Blow bubbles, skip wherever you go, make magic potions.... ✨️ Choose to do something else instead of scrolling social media, or being bored. Paint a stone. Draw something. Try some form of crafting you've always wanted to try, but never make time for. Make a list of small things you can do in those moments. ✨️ Do a dance performance for your cat, dog, toddler, or imaginary audience. Feel the adoration and applause from the crowd. Take that into the rest of your day. ✨️ Put intention into everything you do. Be a powerful creator (that you already are!). Step out with confidence and playfulness as you embody your most magical self.... May you be awed by beauty...always. With love and blessings, Walking in nature is a sacred act. How simple! When we choose to do anything with intention and awareness it becomes sacred. We become connected, open and receptive. Walking is an activity of self care, a way to attune to the rhythms of the seasons, a way of getting up close and personal with the elements, whilst also giving our sacred physical vessel a stretch and a move. It's also a great way to change your mood if you're feeling stuck or angry. I invite you to go for a walk in nature or through the town, but do it from a place of awareness, observing what is, without judging or making commentary about what you see. Just notice. Does it change the experience for you? How does it feel? Will you do it again in this way? Maybe you do this already, below are a few more suggestions. Some possible ideas for you to explore:
✨️ Engage in a walk of gratitude, be consciously grateful for everything you come across on your journey. Let it take you deep in to appreciation. ✨️ Set an intention if you have a question you'd like help with. Ask the question and intend to receive the answer as you walk. Then be open to the omens and messages of all that you encounter on your walk. ✨️ Dedicate your walk to a prayer request. ✨️ Choose to see everything as divine, including the people, remember that everyone is a soul having a human experience. ✨️ Smile at everyone that you cross paths with when it feels appropriate and see what happens. If you choose to go out walking with an intention, may it be deeply rewarding for you. May you be awed by beauty...always. With love and blessings, How do you feel about your home space? Coming home and leaving the world at the door is a special moment, at least it is for me. Stepping over the threshold, I'm stepping in to my sanctuary, my special place where I can unravel and feel safe. We drop all of our masks at the door and come home to ourselves. Are you able to feel relaxed, unwind and recharge? Not to be taken for granted, I am grateful everyday for my home and my safety. How do you feel about your home? Is it your sanctuary? Or do you mainly see the things that need repair or the walls that need a lick of paint, or is it the piles of clutter that seems to be growing all around the place? Do have a list of to do's that could do with having a few of the jobs checked off the list? Maybe you just haven't considered your home as a sacred sanctuary before? Perhaps you do see it this way, you just haven't named it. In the last few years, I've started to give more time to the beautifying of my space. Spending time cleaning is no longer a burdensome act that consumes my precious time, but rather a joy that is carried out with intention and love. As the love is sprinkled around, I feel grateful that I will continue to feel the benefits for weeks to come, layer upon layer added each time. Since first meeting the spirit of my home many years ago, I communicate with them regularly. I cherish the space we are co-creating with intention, checking in often to make sure all is well and in harmony, or if there are any requirements that need to be taken care of energetically. It has over time become an intuitive collaboration between us. I play music and dance with the space to add in more joy energy. I add my gratitude in to the walls and floors as I move around, by thanking the space and the furnishings for holding and supporting me every day. I love my home and everything I choose to bring in to it and furnish it with. These are just some of the ways I make it sacred for me, my safe haven, so that I can fully relax and feel held, ready to face the world again when it's time. Here are some practical ways you can bring some more of the sacred in to your daily living space:
➤ Open the windows and let in the fresh air, let the space breathe. ➤ Regularly smudge your space with intention and cleansing herbs, essential oils, or special room sprays like lavender water. Creating your own room spray with a specific intention, is a loving act for you and your home. I regularly use essential oils to set a mood in my space. ➤ Clear any clutter you may have lying around, clean out some drawers, get rid of what is outdated and holding a stagnant stuck energy. All this clearing makes space for clarity, for new and vibrant possibilities of what's next to enter in. ➤ A house clearing session is a special treat, to clear out energetically old and stagnant energies from the building and land itself. Click here for more details if you're curious to know more or if you feel called to deep clean the house energetically in this way. ➤ Play inspiring, uplifting or music with healing frequencies in your home, dance around the space, bringing in joy as you do so. ➤ Bring in some house plants to help clean and purify the air. These are just a few ideas to help you think of your own ways to bring more sacredness in to your personal sanctuary. Doing it with purpose and intention adds energy to it. May you be awed by beauty...always. With love and blessings, Spring is in the air here in the Northern Hemisphere (finally!!). I feel like a cat stretching after a long and cosy slumber, emerging once more in to the light of the warm Sun and the promise of exciting possibilities ahead.
How about you? With the coming full moon (on Tuesday 7th), I'll be digging in deep to see what needs to be released. What is being carried that no longer supports me. I invite you to do the same. Create a small ritual to release the burdens, take some time to breathe deeply, spend time in nature and notice what is coming up to the surface to be seen and let go of. Then prepare yourself to release it. If you haven't created a small ritual for yourself before, download this simple fire ceremony guide to get you started. For me, control has been a theme for the past few years, looking outwardly and then searching inwardly for those ways in which I still seek to control events, circumstances and even loved ones. As I go in, there seems to be endless depths and areas to be explored. It's easy to wonder if there is an end!! I'm sure there is, but keeping a sense of humour definitely helps on this wild ride. Self-compassion is a must! As you clear and heal yourself, it's good to add attention to who you are becoming. As preparation when someone comes to me for a healing session, I ask them: what does your healed version of reality look like? It's an important piece of the healing journey, to be able to vision your health and well being, what you wish to embody. Too often we can get stuck on what's not working. Spend some time daydreaming about your ideal state of health and happiness, what does it look like? Maybe write it in your journal as a story. Go big and create the best version of reality that you can imagine for yourself. What are you adding focus and attention to? Imagine what is possible..... May you be awed by beauty...always. With love and blessings, |
